Partnering with Communities of Faith
The Theology of the Hammer, developed by Habitat founder Millard Fuller, is the understanding that faith mandates we do more than just talk about it; we must put faith and love into action.
At Tacoma/Pierce County Habitat for Humanity, we call that action Building on Faith and celebrate this partnership with a season of building each year. We invite people of all faith backgrounds to join us by volunteering, pledging support, and/or participating in Wall of Hope.
We are so grateful for the faith groups that support our work with gifts from their benevolence funds, special offerings, and/or direct grants from their operating budgets. To learn how your faith group can support Building on Faith, please click here.

Wall of Hope
The first wall raised in every Building on Faith home is the Wall of Hope. The Wall of Hope is long-standing Habitat for Humanity tradition that involves writing well wishes and blessings on the 2×6 studs that frame a home. Faith partners who contribute an annual gift $750 or more will receive a 2×6 Wall of Hope stud for members to write messages and/or prayers. Learn more about getting involved.
