All first-time volunteers should attend a New Volunteer Orientation before coming out to build with us or helping at the Habitat Store. Orientation sessions are less than an hour and are open to the public.
There are typically three orientation sessions each month:
- First Saturday and third Thursday – Tacoma
- Second Saturday – Puyallup
Check our Event Calendar for upcoming volunteer orientations.
Please be advised that all volunteer opportunities are temporarily on hold due to community health concerns, including New Volunteer Orientations. Please subscribe to our monthly e-news to stay up to date on Habitat news.

You do not need to RSVP to attend a New Volunteer Orientation – just pick a time that works for you and come as you are. Doors open 15 minutes before the orientation starts.
Following your orientation and successful background check, you will have access to VolunteerHub, our online volunteer management system. Once you sign in, you’ll be able to view upcoming opportunities and schedule yourself for shifts.
Please note that volunteers must be >16 years old and we are not able to verify court-ordered community service hours.
