Women Build: Roofing 101 1

Join Women Build for a new workshop about roof repair on Wednesday, July 7th. Instructor Caitie will virtually take you onto her roof to teach you how to install shingles (including some tricky steps), and show you how to inspect for repair or replacement. During this free workshop, you will also get an overview of the materials and tools needed when roofing, and discover the pros/cons and costs of different types of roofing.

Click here to register for this virtual, online session. While this workshop was designed with women in mind, all are welcome to attend.

Women Build Workshops are sponsored by our friends at:

Meet the instructor: Caitie

Women Build: Painting Basics 1After graduating from University of Mary Washington in Virginia with a degree in biology, Caitie served two AmeriCorps terms as a Construction Site Coordinator with Habitat for Humanity, first in Delaware then in Tacoma. Following her AmeriCorps term in Tacoma, Caitie became a construction trainer for Goodwill’s YouthBuild program. Now living on the east coast, Caitie works as a Construction Site Manager for a Habitat affiliate in North Carolina.

Caitie continues volunteering with Women Build because she is passionate about teaching and empowering individuals, especially women and young people. She believes that creating a safe environment to learn, ask questions, and make mistakes helps people develop new skills as well as the confidence to use them.
