AmeriCorps, 2021-2022
AmeriCorps members are valued Tacoma/Pierce County Habitat for Humanity teammates and central to our work with volunteers. It is our pleasure to introduce you to Valibeigi and Meredith, AmeriCorps members for 2021-2022.
Valibeigi, 28
Born in Seattle, Valibeigi graduated from Evergreen State College in 2021 with a Political Science degree and joined AmeriCorps right after graduation. “I didn’t feel like I quite knew how to re-enter a post-pandemic world, but I figured Habitat was a great organization to be a part of, and I was right! I’ve learned a lot—about construction, communication and myself!”
Meredith, 24
From her hometown of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Meredith graduated in 2020 with a degree in Art History and Museum studies, and took some time off before her service with AmeriCorps. “Habitat really appealed to me for two reasons. One, was the idea of pushing myself into a whole new field on a construction site. Two, the non-profit is really well established and I thought it would be really beneficial to start my career here.”
