The Financial Wellness Moai is a free, two-part workshop series designed for Parkland and Spanaway residents who want to strengthen their money management skills and prepare for homeownership through Habitat for Humanity.

What Is a Moai?
A Moai is a social support group formed around a shared purpose. Originating in Okinawa, Japan, the word Moai means “meeting for a common purpose.” Research shows that these support systems play a key role in the longevity and well-being of Okinawan communities, which are among the longest-living populations in the world. In Blue Zones Project communities, Moais help people build lasting connections while supporting one another’s goals—whether social, financial, health-related, or beyond.
