DESCRIPTION:Beyond the Backyard is an adventure race: part scavenger hunt and part double-dog-dare. This family-friendly fundraising event is designed for fun-seekers of all ages and competitors of all abilities. It is perfect for families and/or groups of friends\, and offers team-building opportunities for colleagues\, sports teams\, and youth groups. \nOn Saturday\, May 21st teams will race to complete a series of challenges between 10:00 am and 1:00 pm. There are prizes for the team to finish first\, the team that captures the best photo and the individual that raises the most money. Visit our FAQs for more details on how the race works. \nRace entry is $25/person and teams then raise or self-pledge a total of $300. (Entry fees count toward the team goal\, so if you have 4 people register\, you’re 1/3 there.) DESCRIPTION:Some take the Habitat Challenge to conquer fears; others to mark a milestone; some do it just for the bragging rights. Whatever the reason\, when you take the Challenge\, you’ll be 245′ above Tacoma with just one way down. \nA $50 registration fee holds your place on the ropes but in order to reach the roof\, each participant must raise a minimum of $1\,000 to benefit Tacoma/Pierce County Habitat for Humanity. We make it easy with online tools to help you promote your rappel\, collect donations and track your progress. \nBy going over the edge\, you help keep entry-level homeownership accessible for our neighbors and open the door to a family’s first home.
