DESCRIPTION:As a social distancing measure\, New Volunteer Orientations have been temporarily suspended and this session has been cancelled.\nTo keep pace with the fluid COVID-19 situation and Tacoma/Pierce County Habitat for Humanity’s response\, please visit: https://www.tpc-habitat.org/covid-19/. Thank you for your patience and flexibility during this extraordinary time.  \n\nGet started as a new Habitat volunteer by attending an orientation. New volunteers are asked to attend this brief session to learn about Habitat’s mission\, different types of volunteer opportunities\, and the safety and logistics information they need prior to coming onsite. \nThere is no need to RSVP and you do not need to bring anything with you. Please be prompt. Sessions will begin on time. \nPlease note\, we are unable to sign off on court-ordered community service hours. \n\nThe health and safety of Tacoma/Pierce County Habitat for Humanity homeowners\, volunteers\, staff and community is a top priority. We continue to follow the recommendations of the Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department and are carefully monitoring the COVID-19 situation. \nHand washing stations are available on our construction sites\, and hand sanitizer is accessible both in the office and at the Habitat Stores. We are regularly disinfecting community-use spaces and encourage frequent hand washing. Employees and volunteers alike are encouraged to stay home if they are sick. \nPlease join us in promoting a healthy environment.
