Thank you for your patience and flexibility during this extraordinary time.  \n\nGet started as a new Habitat volunteer by attending an orientation. New volunteers are asked to attend this brief session to learn about Habitat’s mission\, different types of volunteer opportunities\, and the safety and logistics information they need prior to coming onsite. \nThere is no need to RSVP and you do not need to bring anything with you. Please be prompt. Sessions will begin on time. \nPlease note\, we are unable to sign off on court-ordered community service hours. \n\nThe health and safety of Tacoma/Pierce County Habitat for Humanity homeowners\, volunteers\, staff and community is a top priority. We continue to follow the recommendations of the Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department and are carefully monitoring the COVID-19 situation. \nHand washing stations are available on our construction sites\, and hand sanitizer is accessible both in the office and at the Habitat Stores. We are regularly disinfecting community-use spaces and encourage frequent hand washing. Employees and volunteers alike are encouraged to stay home if they are sick. \nPlease join us in promoting a healthy environment.

DESCRIPTION:As a social distancing measure\, the Garden Bed Workshop has been cancelled and will be rescheduled for a later date. \nIf you are registered for this event\, you will receive an email communication regarding its cancellation and eventual reschedule. Thank you for your patience and flexibility during this extraordinary time.  \n\n  \nGarden beds can make your vegetable garden more organized and easier to manage\, and they’re great for new gardeners. However\, pre-built garden beds or kits can be expensive. In this Women Build Workshop you will learn how to build a garden bed that will fit in any space – even a patio or apartment balcony – on any budget. \nBeginners welcome; no construction skills needed. \nSpace is limited for this no-cost workshop\, and preregistration is required. \nPlease note that due to the use of power tools in this workshop\, all participants must be 18+ years old\, and attendees will be asked to sign a waiver upon registration. \n\n  \nThe health and safety of Tacoma/Pierce County Habitat for Humanity homeowners\, volunteers\, staff and community is a top priority. We continue to follow the recommendations of the Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department and are carefully monitoring the COVID-19 situation. \nHand washing stations are available on our construction sites\, and hand sanitizer is accessible both in the office and at the Habitat Stores.
