This family-friendly event is designed for fun-seekers of all ages and competitors of all abilities. It is perfect for families and/or groups of friends\, and offers team-building opportunities for colleagues\, sports teams\, and youth groups. \nOn Saturday\, May 22nd teams will race to complete a series of challenges in the categories of Physical; Find; Skill; and Fun across a three-hour period. There are prizes for the team to finish first\, the team that captures the best photo and the individual that raises the most money. Visit our FAQs for more details on how the race works. \nRace entry is $25/person and teams then raise or self-pledge $300 to benefit Tacoma Habitat’s affordable homeownership and foreclosure prevention programs.  (Entry fees count toward the team goal\, so if you have 4 people register\, you’re 1/3 there.) DESCRIPTION:Beyond the Backyard is an adventure race: part scavenger hunt and part double-dog-dare. This family-friendly fundraising event is designed for fun-seekers of all ages and competitors of all abilities. It is perfect for families and/or groups of friends\, and offers team-building opportunities for colleagues\, sports teams\, and youth groups. \nOn Saturday\, May 21st teams will race to complete a series of challenges between 10:00 am and 1:00 pm. There are prizes for the team to finish first\, the team that captures the best photo and the individual that raises the most money. Visit our FAQs for more details on how the race works. \nRace entry is $25/person and teams then raise or self-pledge a total of $300. (Entry fees count toward the team goal\, so if you have 4 people register\, you’re 1/3 there.) DESCRIPTION:Join Tacoma Habitat and Jay Staples of Fairway Mortgage and Washington State Housing Finance Commission for a free\, 2-part workshop series centered around readiness for buying a home. The class will be held over Zoom from 4:00 PM to 6:30 PM daily\, starting Wednesday\, July 20 and continuing Thursday\, July 21. Attendance at both sessions is mandatory.  \nThe series will cover the importance of a monthly spending plan\, how to get out of debt\, strategies to save for homeownership\, and the Washington State First-Time Home Buyer’s Class which is required in order to access State-funded down payment assistance programs. \nThe Pathways to Homeownership series is open the public\, whether you plan to buy through Habitat for Humanity or on the open market. \nPre-registration is required.
