Collegiate Challenge

Students from Point Park University in Pittsburgh, PA and East Carolina University in Greenville, NC work at Tacoma's Ainsworth Vista neighborhood in March 2012.

Each spring, Tacoma/Pierce County Habitat for Humanity participates in a special build called Collegiate Challenge, where college students from around the country spend their spring break helping us build homes.

Students participating in Collegiate Challenge find it fun and rewarding and usually return home and spread the word about their Habitat experience, garnering even more volunteers and supporters dedicated to eliminating poverty housing in their own communities.

Tacoma/Pierce County Habitat for Humanity's participation in Collegiate Challenge wouldn't be possible without support from the many local churches who house the students, the YMCA which provides use of its facilties, and lunch providers who are needed for every day of Collegiate Challenge.
