Collegiate Challenge

Students from the University of California - San Diego pose outside of a MultiCare-donated property after a solid day of demolition and clean-up work.

Each spring, Tacoma/Pierce County Habitat for Humanity participates in a special build called Collegiate Challenge, where college students from around the country spend their spring break helping us build homes.

Students participating in Collegiate Challenge find it fun and rewarding and often return home spreading the word about their Habitat experience and garnering even more volunteers and supporters dedicated to eliminating poverty housing in their own communities.

Tacoma/Pierce County Habitat for Humanity's participation in Collegiate Challenge wouldn't be possible without support from the many local churches who house the students, the YMCA which provides use of its facilties, and lunch providers who are needed for every day of Collegiate Challenge.
