Thrivent Financial for Lutherans partners with Habitat for Humanity to help local community members afford new and suitable homes, and sponsors the construction of hundreds of Habitat homes every year.

Through fundraising and service hours, Thrivent Builds has helped build more than 500 homes throughout the U.S. since 1991. Thrivent Financial and its members have volunteered more than 1.4 million building hours and raised over $25 million.

In addition, all Habitat affiliates take 10% of funds raised by Thrivent Financial to support building programs in other countries. Tithing from Thrivent Builds Homes contributions will allow up to 500 additional homes to be constructed around the world.

Tacoma/Pierce County Habitat for Humanity just completed a Thrivent Builds house in our Ainsworth Vista development. Thrivent Financial for Lutherans also sponsored a house in Gig Harbor in 2009 and a house in Salishan in 2010.
