Students from Boston University work at Founder's Circle during spring break 2011.

Each spring, TPC Habitat for Humanity participates in a special build called Collegiate Challenge, where college students from around the country spend their spring break helping us build homes. In 2012 we expect groups from East Carolina University, Pointe Parke University, Minnesota State, Southern Utah University, Boston University, Carolina State, Portland State, and Linfield College. Each school sends an average of 10-20 participants.

TPC's participation in Collegiate Challenge wouldn't be possible without support from the many local churches who house the students, the YMCA which provides use of its facilties, and lunch providers who are needed for every day of Collegiate Challenge.

Students participating in Collegiate Challenge find it a fun and rewarding experience and go back to spread the word about their Habitat experience with friends and family back home, garnering even more volunteers and supporters dedicated to the mission of eliminating poverty housing in their own communities.

If you are interested in participating in the 2012 Collegiate Challenge, or in providing lunch for the students, please contact Volunteer Services.
