Basic Requirements for Homeownership

Interested in owning a Habitat home? Potential homeowners must meet the following criteria:

- Currently live or work in Pierce County

- No felonies in the past five years

- Willing to put in 500 "sweat-equity" hours building houses and attending classes

- Currently live in substandard, overcrowded, expensive, temporary, or government-subsidized housing

- Collections must be less than $1,500 at the time of acceptance; credit coaching is available for those with higher amounts in collections

- Total gross household income must fall within the limits below*:
