Thrivent Build
Thrivent Financial for Lutherans has partnered with Habitat for Humanity to help local community members afford new and suitable homes. Thrivent sponsors the construction of hundreds of additional Habitat homes every year. Through fundraising and service hours, Thrivent has help build 500 homes since 1991. In 2009, Thrivent Builds with Habitat for Humanity will contribute more than $24 million to help build 314 affordable houses in 37 states and the District of Columbia.
Thrivent Financial members with Lutheran congregation institutions, communities, Habitat for Humanity and partner families sponsor hundreds of additional Habitat homes each year. More than two-thirds of funding for each home comes from the efforts of Thrivent Financial, its members and local chapters. Lutheran congregations raise the remaining funding for the houses and Habitat affiliates.
Since 1991, Thrivent Financial and its members have volunteered more than 1.4 million volunteer hours in building time and raised over $25 million. With the help of Thrivent Financial, Habitat for Humanity will be able to build homes in less time than in past programs.
In addition, all Habitat affiliates take 10% of funds raised to support building programs in other countries. Tithing from Thrivent Builds Homes contributions will allow up to 500 additional homes to be constructed around the world.

In 2009, a Thrivent Builds house was built on the Key Peninsula. We hope to partner with Thrivent Builds in 2010.
