Builders Blitz
Home Builders Blitz is an exciting opportunity for Tacoma/Pierce County Habitat for Humanity and local professional builders to partner to build 8-10 homes in 8 days! In the first national Home Builders Blitz in 2006, more than 1,000 professional home builders came together to build 459 homes at 130 Habitat affiliates across the country, providing housing for nearly 2,000 people.
The partnership between builders and Habitat for Humanity will make a significant change in people’s lives in our local community in a short period of time; making affordable housing available to families in need. Participating builders will be making a whole home contribution through their hard work and industry expertise and will benefit from local and national media recognition for their efforts.
In 2006, a total of 4 local home builders and many local and national businesses participated in this unprecedented event. Together, the 4 builders worked with Tacoma/Pierce County Habitat for Humanity and built 7 more simple, decent, affordable homes for area families in need.
